Here are pictures from the ballet shows last night and today. The shows were precious. The girls really enjoyed doing them and being with their friends.

US soccer team gets held up twice today by an elephant

Elephant delays U.S. soccer team (www.statesman.com)

Forget getting past England. The U.S. soccer team had to get past the elephants first.

The U.S. team was delayed twice Friday when elephants blocked the road, the second back-up coming as the squad was traveling to its training session at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in South Africa. The elephant was munching on a tree as the Americans left the Bakubung Bush Lodge, and it moved to the side of the road after about four minutes.

"Everybody had their cell phones out, pictures were being taken," coach Bob Bradley said. "It was all part of the experience."

Earlier in the afternoon, a bus carrying 10 players on their way to an open-air market at the entrance to the team hotel got stuck behind an elephant, spokesman Michael Kammarman said. Players had timed the trip to get back to the hotel in time for the start of the World Cup opener between South Africa and Mexico.

"It was cool," U.S. captain Carlos Bocanegra said of the up-close encounter with the animal kingdom. "A big elephant, just eating on the path out of our hotel."

It wasn't clear if the same elephant caused both delays.

Sienna misses PawPaw

This evening we were looking at Nonna's facebook page and the girls saw pictures of PawPaw. They wanted to see them so we started looking at them. Sienna teared up and started crying so hard. She said she missed him. After a few minutes, she pointed up to heaven and said I will see him again in heaven when it is lunchtime for him. Then she said, I am so worried about him. It was so sad. It is really the only time she has cried like that for someone. You could tell it really made her sad to see his picture.

We had dress rehearsal tonight. The little ponies are so cute! They try so hard! Sofia waves right in the middle of their part. I will post the video to Facebook and the Blog this weekend.

Today, Sienna said she had Tai and Quinn mixed up in her heart and she doesn't know what to do. She also said that froggy was a bad boy at school. He fell asleep at his desk.

World Cup kickoff tonight. The first game is tomorrow.

Froggy

These stories are just from this afternoon....

I had to pick up froggy from school at thirty o’clock. I picked him up after work. I work at a place like you, mamma. But there they have yummy muffins with sweet candy corn icing. I am building froggy a tool box, no, a toy box. Froggy wants a frog towel but he really likes his spider man towel. I am worried because I can’t find froggy a frog towel.

Froggy had to take some medicine to make his teeth grow so he could talk better. The medicine was called “medicine to make you talk better”. Right now, froggy doesn't have any teeth, just gums.

My arms are really hurting. Today before I took froggy to school I was swinging him on the swings and my one arm hurts now.

Frenzy about to begin

The World Cup opening ceremony starts on Thursday night. Italy is the current champion. It would be great if they could win again! It is getting hectic here in the downtown areas. The frenzy is about to begin!

I was getting ready to take a shower today and Sofia said "Mamma's have to wash their hair every day because they work hard all day long and get dirt in it". It was so cute. Then Sienna has been doing nothing but drawing what she is calling scientist pictures. Pictures of frogs and more frogs. She said today she had a headache. I asked why. She said it was because frogyy was yelling at her. She had told him to go and pee but he wouldn't and he just peed on himself and he was yelling at her. She said froggy's mom takes him to school every day in a purple car but she doesn't like the car and she needs to buy him a green one. I asked her if she was froggy's mom and she said no, she is his Nonna.

The girls baked biscuits (cookies) at school today. They were supposed to be for father's day. They were beautifully decorated and in a nice box with their handprint on it. On the way home, I noticed they were awfully quiet- well that is because they were eating the cookies that were supposed to be for Sal. They told me he will just have to come over here and they will bake him some more.

Before work, I always clean out the cat's litter box. Well, Sofia was bound and determined to be my helper. I told her that she could not manage to carry the litter box, open the bedroom door without the cats running out and get the box to me. As I was getting the fresh litter out of the cabinet, I hear litter going all over the floor. It is 7:27, we are supposed to leave at 7:30 and there is loads of litter and cat poop and pee ALL over the place. I was so mad. She felt really bad. I swept it all up in record time, got it changed and all was well. This new litter is like powder granules. And the kittens don't know what to think of it. It is lightweight. When I put it in there, they kept dipping their paws in to it and jumping back. Then Gaby, Sofia's kitten, got in the box and started digging it all out of the litter box. It was everywhere.

Speaking of peeing, I am tired of seeing men peeing in public here. It is disgusting. Yesterday, there was a man standing right in the median of heavy traffic on both sides peeing. Could he not find a tree?

Today the power and water was out at the office. We couldn't get much done. No lights, no internet, no phone, no toilets. No productivity.

School closes tomorrow for about a 4 week period. Schools here go year round and this is one of the 4 breaks they get throughout the year.

That's about it for now. My thoughts and prayers are with Billy Sisson's family. So, so tragic. It breaks my heart.
